@preciousnd98 It's funny, I get annoyed with DH because he needs to lose a good 15-20lbs and he kind of shrugs it off. I think it would annoy me WAY more if he could just eat whatever he wanted and didn't gain weight or WANTED to gain lol! SO frustrating! But that is good that he is active and gets you motivated too! I have tried to get mine to be interested in exercise and he claims he is but makes no effort to do any.
As for the diet, it has taken me 2 years to get to this point and I am hoping I am as "there" as I think I am. I feel like a wagon rollover is right around the bend lol. But I think I have found the right combo for me which is to try to work on weight loss during the weekdays and then just try to keep things level during the weekend as opposed to struggling to diet all the time and then getting frustrated and gorging and ruining all the progress I made during the week. It has taken a lot of planning and trial and error though and working through my quirks I go through like loving a certain lunch and then absolutely hating it after I had it 3 days in a row lol. And finding snacks like the rice cakes or the almond thing that I like. I think doing 2 low carb days give me a break from the other meals and then just as I am sick of the low carb stuff I get back to a regular day. Also factoring in my indulgences instead of just trying to avoid them is working well. I know I am not giving up wine but if I can just have it on the weekends I am ok with that. And by increasing my calories on the weekends I don't feel like I am depriving myself.
It helps that we don't eat take out hardly at all. When my mom was getting us take out once/week I think it completely ruined me. I too have NO willpower! So I just could not seem to control myself in the face of fries and cookies and whatever else would show up on those days. Now my mom will cook us a meal and bring it over so it's like a regular dinner.
Finding things like those small packs of goldfish will help! It has helped me to not keep snacks in the house like that. DD2 just asked me to buy doritos and the individual frito bags. Having the individual bags helps SO much but they go through them so fast. It also helps DD2 who needs to learn portion control!
Planning out what you are going to eat for the whole day REALLY helps too. I have had everything for today entered into MFP since this afternoon including 2 glasses of wine and 2 cups of skinny pop for later and I will end the day at 1250 calories if I have them. It's nice to know that! So if you do nothing else I would try that. I know how frustrating the back and forth is.
@tanyachap Thanks! And GREAT job! Almost there!
