Yes! I mean I still get hungry but it's not constant and I am eating less and satisfied. Like my old lunch used to be a full sandwich, baby carrots, apple, plus something like mashed potatoes or soup (we have a full cafeteria at work). And I was not full and actually hungry like with 30 minutes. Oh and a bottle of diet mountain dew. And sometimes I would have a second coffee at work, usually a mocha with skim milk and no whip....since I sit across from the coffee shop.
Starting to say feel a bit hungry right now but dinner is not all that far away and I will just drink some water and be fine.
And I still like pasta. I will probably make some buttered noodles for a side tonight with the nuggets and either broccoli or cauliflower (my DH and I love both so I make a big bowl for both of us). But I no longer want pasta every meal every day.
I LOVE metformin, it's affected this so much, it's really cheap AND it's helped with the condition I took it for in the first place (a more rare skin condition that I found evidence of it helping as an off-label use). Before though I would try so hard to eat healthy and really we do pretty well as I make most meals, don't use a ton of processed foods, buy and eat quite a few veggies and fruits weekly, lean protein, would try to exercise and nothing was happening....and finally it's all working. And feel more normal and in control, especially at night.
It's been six months and I'm down 30 lbs.....so not overly fast but I'm thrilled with it....and I didn't lose over the holidays at all and just maintained. I have MFP set to lose about 1 pound a week, more than that and I can't handle the calories being quite that low. And i'm like everyone else, waiting for the weather to get say above freezing so I can do more things like get out walking my dogs.
