Oh you've redecorated..... I don't like it. Its been a while since I was last on here. I keep up with my July 2013 DD Group on FB. Well the last month has been very difficult. SO here is a very quick run down of a lengthy 3.5 years before last month.
24 years old mother of 2. STC 2 years for number 2 with 7 M/C, balanced translocation, MTHFR, PCOS, finally getting PG October 2012 and getting a sticky bean. Tubal ligation post birth.
Fast forward to January. I had an a cyst rupture. Thought it was no big deal. I was in pain but it was normal because it began to happen quite often after having DD. Well I was very very WRONG. 10 hours later still in pain but at this point I was rating it a 9 out of 10. Which I have to be in a lot of pain to do that. So we rushed to the ED and at this point I was fading in and out of consciousness. We get into the ED and they take my BP and it was 62/40. The nurse chuckled and thought the machine was screwed up because at this point I was awake and talking giving her my history. Well then she has me transfer to a wheel chair. I get orthostatic hypotension and pass out. She flips out and hollers for the doctor and I'm wheeled into a trauma room with from what my husband says is the whole ED staff. They get fluids running though me and get me back to where I was awake enough to understand what was going on. I get a CT and then next thing I know there is an OB standing at the foot of my bed saying we have to do surgery pronto. Husband signs consent forms and off we rush to the OR.
So in post-op the OB tells me that I had a very large ruptured cyst that had released 400cc of blood into my abdomen and she discovered endometriosis (new dx!) . We began talking about my options. (This is where you all come in) I have the option of birth control, this is a no no for me because I get sick off of it and or crazy due to only being allowed to have progesterone based hormones. Or the option of a total hysterectomy, I am heavily leaning towards this but due to not being able to use estrogen based hormones I don't know how I will be after it is done.
Those who have had a total hysterectomy (ovaries and uterus) and did not take hormones. Can you weigh in on how you felt afterwards.
FYI sorry for the book ladies
